Chapter Summary

This index presents a list of names, terms and concepts that occur in the book The Prophet-King: Moses Traditions and the Johannine Christology. The book investigates to clarify the way in which the motifs represented by the two terms "prophet" and "king" in the Fourth Gospel not only are interrelated, but interpret each other. This investigation involves not only detailed analysis of passages within the Fourth Gospel but also a wide-ranging survey of extra-biblical sources, it is necessary at the beginning to recognize that not all scholars agree as to the necessity, or even the relevance, of such comparative studies for the task of New Testament (NT) exegesis.

Keywords: Johannine Christology; Moses traditions; New Testament (NT)
