Chapter Summary

The first development stage of part D is the inclusion of summary in Part C between the pericope on Jesus' temptation in desert and that of on Herod and Jesus. This chapter presents a synoptic table illustrating the respective order of sources in same Gospel and underlines the inclusion of each source: the mission set point for source B, the visit to Nazareth for the source A-1, discourse in parables to the source A-2. Two factors provide the characteristic note to D in Matthew: importance given to the source and secondary role played by the Part B. A feature of the structure of D that is maintained in three synoptics: no evangelist has changed ordinance of sources. Matthew may have added or deleted one or other element but the ordinance of the pericopes of the double tradition remains intact. The original text of the chapter is in French.
