Chapter Summary

This chapter presents an overview on the functional typology of Olav miracles and the construction of holiness in the Passio Olavi. It analyzes the miracles collection to represent a single compilation that actually consists of several tradition layers. It has also been found that the Passio part linguistically and stylistically forms a more independent text unit that can be linked with the collection or selection Olav miracles in different environments. The chapter discusses the development of the functional typology of Latin Olav miracle of the Recensio I. It examines the image of the Olav and the question of literary models in the Passio Olavi. The miracle of the chronology or the miracle types were recorded or mixed without a visible source in the Middle Ages. The chapter discusses the construction of the holiness in the Passio Olavi.
