Chapter Summary

This front matter section of the book Miscellanea Neotestamentica, Volume I contains the table of contents and the list of abbreviations. The book discusses the study of the New Testament (N.T.) in the Netherlands. Dutch theology in general has always been and still is in direct relation to the life of the concrete churches. The character of that relation varies. The chapter first deals with the N.T. Scholarship that can be styled as "applied science". Then, it turns to those areas where "pure scientific research" takes place, where Dutch scholars try to break new ground and to discover what new material can be found to understand the N.T. in the world and in its uniqueness.

Keywords: applied science; Netherlands; New Testament (N.T.); pure scientific research
