Chapter Summary

This collection of essays in the field of the New Testament (N.T.) studies, presented in this book, is published in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the "Conventus Novi Testamenti Studiosorum". F. W. Grosheide and J. de Zwaan have held an important place in the religious life and in the field of theological scholarship in the Netherlands. As far as religion is concerned, the Netherlands was up till the 1960's clearly divided between a Roman Catholic and a Protestant part. This short survey of Dutch N.T. scholarship may give colleagues abroad a good impression of what is going on in this field on the borders of the North Sea and serve as a helpful framework for the contributions that follow in this book.
