Chapter Summary

This bibliography presents a list of reference books and articles for this book The Ascension of the Messiah in Lukan Christology. The book investigates the Lukan ascension story in the light of the first-century Jewish rapture traditions (Enoch, Elijah, Moses, Baruch, Ezra, etc). In opposition to the view that Luke's theological program was dominated by the delay of the imminent parousia, E. Franklin espoused the view that Luke's eschatological outlook was determined by the central significance of the ascension as the climax of redemptive history.
