Chapter Summary

This chapter presents an overview on the literary dependence of Colossians letter to the letters of Paul. It investigates the relationship between the text of the Kol and the Pauline Epistles. The chapter clarifies the relationship between the Kol and the letters of Paul and also contributes to genesis of letters. Ed Parish Sanders was the first who investigated literary relations between the Kol and Pauline Epistles. The chapter discusses the letter framework of Colossians letter and Pauline letter form. The question of peculiarities of Pauline prescript also implies the question of comparing genera to the Pauline letters within the ancient epistolary literature. The letters are "political instrument" designed to organize and maintain the social fabric and financial affairs between the sender group and communities. The chapter reveals the literary relationship between the Colossians letter and the Philemon letter. The original text of the chapter is in German.
