Chapter Summary

This appendix of the book Popularizing Anti-Semitism in Early Modern Spain and its Empire: Francisco de Torrejoncillo and the Centinela contra Judíos (1674) contains a list of documents including Spanish décima poems. The poems describe the confession of a Jew who took part in the Auto of the Inquisition of Llerena held in the year 1662 and contain verses against the Jews, that were published in the period of the illustrious Lord Don Juan Silíceo, Archbishop of Toledo. The book offers the first historical analysis of the Centinela as well as the first translation into English of a source that is vital to understanding the history of anti-Semitism in the Hispanic world.
