Chapter Summary

This bibliography presents a list of names of persons, reference articles and books relevant to discussion of political history of the American Communist Party (CP). Anti-Communist assumptions motivated many historians. Among these, the historian who stands out, for the depth of his research and analysis and for the clarity of his argument, is former Daily Worker writer Theodore Draper. At the height of the Cold War, Draper wrote a two-volume history of the CP in the 1920s. Draper interviewed or corresponded with many veterans of the early Communist movement, and collected scattered archival sources.

Keywords: American Communist Party (CP); early Communist movement; Theodore Draper
