Chapter Summary

This bibliography contains a list of reference articles and books relevant to the discussion on Moria de Erasmo Roterodamo. With the aim of making the list as short and manageable as possible, the classical sources are not added to the catalogue, since most of them have been consulted in the venerable Loeb Classical Library from Harvard University Press. The Encomium Moriae's impact on sixteenth-century Spanish literature (and beyond) has been one of the most discussed and intriguing questions. Apart from the ferocious attacks the work received from its religious critics, there is no doubt that the Moria de Erasmo Roterodamo was well known to the Spanish Renaissance intelligentsia, as passages of the work appear in numerous literary works, either as direct translations or as adaptations.

Keywords: Moria de Erasmo Roterodamo; Spanish literature; Spanish Renaissance intelligentsia
