Chapter Summary

Specially-set-post teachers are the most important power in supplementing rural school teachers. It is necessary to improve the housing and income conditions of specially-set-post teachers. The gender imbalance among the "Specially-set-post Teachers" is an issue that requires attention. The "Specially-set-post Teachers" mainly taught Chinese, Mathematics and English. Among the "Specially-set-post Teachers" who have responded to the survey, more than 50" of them would often pay attention to various recruitment and admission opportunities. The word "specially" in "specially-set-post" Plan does not only mean that the post was special but it also signifies meanings such as "specially needed" and "specially basic". Compared to existing rural teachers, the "Specially-set-post Teachers" had higher education levels. Overall, the combination of "Specially-set-post Teachers" with existing rural teachers, both with respect to age and subject expertise, has effectively ameliorated the structure and quality of the population of rural teachers.
