Chapter Summary

This index presents a list of concepts discussed in the book Lenin and the Logic of Hegemony: Political Practice and Theory in the Class Struggle. The book traces the contours of the '[anti-]metaphysical event' Gramsci signalled, the emergence of hegemony in Lenin's theory and practice, and throw some light upon the kind of 'philosophical fact' it represents. The post-Marxist critique of hegemony dovetails nicely with the conventional caricature of Lenin at the same time as it renders superfluous a scrupulous reading of his theorisation of hegemony. This caricature thus occupies a strategic position in contemporary debates over the concept of hegemony.

Keywords: Gramsci; hegemony; Lenin; post-Marxist
