Chapter Summary

The main purpose of humanistic professor, Henrik Samuel Nyberg, was obvious to create the Old Testament studies. In any case this professor gave the opportunity to drive semitic studies in the wider sense, and even Persian and Turkish, and this opportunity was used more and more over time, so that general studies of Orientalism grew and independently in the last century by theology made. In the last decade of the last century Wellhausen critical ideas had on at areas with a lot of sorrow and distress in the confessional strongly bound theological faculty in Uppsala input procured by a group of younger theologians who prepared the students and aspiring doctors their future careers. The Bible-Babel controversy hit the waves of course also to Sweden and Uppsala. The original context of the chapter is in German.
