Chapter Summary

This bibliography presents a list of abbreviations that follow those in the Journal of Biblical Literature 95 (1976) 339-346 and reference articles relevant to the discussion of the theory of the Deuteronomistic History (DH) in the field in the first half of a monograph published in 1943 established by Martin Noth. That monograph, with its inimitably German title, Überlieferungsgeschichtliche Studien, has since become a classic in the study of the Hebrew Bible because it forever changed the way that scholars regard the "historical books" of the Bible.

Keywords: Hebrew Bible; Martin Noth; theory of Deuteronomistic History (DH)
