Chapter Summary

This front matter section of the book Studies in Deuteronomy: In Honour of C.J. Labuschagne on the Occasion of His 65th Birthday contains the table of contents, a preface, and a list of abbreviations. The present Festschrift was conceived, prepared and brought to publication as an expression of gratitude to a respected scholar and a dear colleague and friend. The book was presented to him on the occasion of his 65th birthday, a few years after his retirement as Professor of Old Testament at the State University of Groningen. In the last decades, Professor Casper Jeremiah Labuschagne has dedicated his scientific research especially to the book of Deuteronomy. The hitherto published volumes of his Dutch commentary on this Old Testament writing have been welcomed as a major contribution to its interpretation.
