Chapter Summary

The editorial alterations concern two levels of the text-the division into chapters and the omission of some patristic fragments. This chapter provides only provisional notes on the main differences in the chapters of the Panoplia Dogmatike manuscripts which the author has consulted himself or information available in various catalogues. The edition of the Panoplia has two chapters, which in the manuscript tradition in some cases appear as chapters and in another as subchapters-these are the entry Against the Latins and entry About the Cross, the Holy Baptism and about the Transformation of the Lord's Body and Blood. Apparently these were the chapters which allowed the Panoplia to be used as a real weapon in the fight against the Catholics and the Calvinists. One could assume that the editors were aware of these fluctuations in the manuscript tradition and chose to treat the entries in question as chapters.
