Chapter Summary

This chapter contains ten business letters in Arabic text, its translation and comment. The letters were posted from al-Quṣayr al-Qadīm outpost on Red Sea shore. The letters include business letter to deliver meal to šayḫ Ibrāhīm b. Mufarriǧ, business letter to deliver chickpeas and meal to šayḫ Abū Mufarriǧ, business letter to deliver meal to Abū Mufarriǧ and greetings, business letter to deliver wheat and oil two times to šayḫ Muḥammad b. Ǧaʿfar and notice, business letter from Muḥammad b. Ǧaʿfar, business letter to the ship owner (an-nāḫudā) and Treasurer (al-ǧahbaḏ) Abū Ṯābit for delivery, instruction to šayḫ Abū ʿUṯmān to hand over a raṭl bread to the bearer of the letter, statement of several deliveries to Manṣūr und Muḥammad aš-Šanhūrī, statement of two deliveries to Abū Mufarriǧ, two business letters on deliveries to Abū Mufarriǧ.
