Chapter Summary

This front matter section of the book China and International Investment Law: Twenty Years of ICSID Membership contains the table of contents and a list of contributors. The 20th anniversary of China's accession to the ICSID provided a perfect opportunity for such a debate. The "China and ICSID" International Workshop and Roundtable on International Investment Law and Arbitration was therefore organized in 2012 at Xi'an, the eastern starting point of the ancient Silk Road, by Xi'an Jiaotong University School of Law and its Silk Road Institute for International and Comparative Law (SRIICL). The first part of the book addresses important overarching issues in general international investment law, while the other two parts explore key aspects of the Chinese investment treaties and the most significant treaty negotiations, respectively.

Keywords: China; ICSID; International Investment Law; SRIICL
