This index presents a list of book titles that have been cited for the book Listen, Copy, Read: popular learning in early Modern Japan. The book is the result of an international workshop on the following theme: "Ways of learning, use of guidebooks in Early Modern Japan", held in 2009 at the Université Paris Diderot. The workshop brought together Masashi Tsujimoto, W. J. Boot, Matthias Hayek, Christophe Marquet, Markus Rüttermann and Annick Horiuchi. The book describes numerous examples of Chinese books translated into the vernacular language or Japanese books inspired by Chinese models but adapted to suit the needs and tastes of a popular audience.
