Chapter Summary

This index presents a list of terms and concepts that occur in the book Human Rights and Business: A Policy-Oriented Perspective. The book seeks to proffer a solution to today's societal problem regarding human rights and TNCs, the New Haven School recognizes that the problem is multi-faceted and complex. Because of this complexity, scholars, diplomats, NGOs, and affected individuals agree that there is no simple solution. Human dignity is critical to understanding why and how international law should be applied in the context of non-state actors (TNCs) that have been bestowed with certain enumerated rights under domestic and international law, but very few corresponding duties and obligations.

Keywords: human rights; international law; New Haven School
