Chapter Summary

This bibliography of the book Calvinism and the Making of the European Mind presents a list of reference material and books. The book traces the interplay between Calvinism's transformative spirituality and the rise of modern Europe. Gijsbert van den Brink, one of the authors of the book examines the various 'theses' that previous generations of scholars put forward in order to assert some connection between Calvinism and various modern phenomena. Some of the papers of this book were originally devised as a response to one of the other papers. As a result, various issues discussed in this book are illuminated from two different, and often complementary, perspectives.

Keywords: Calvinism; European mind; Gijsbert van den Brink; modern phenomena; transformative spirituality
