Chapter Summary

This index presents a list of terms and concepts covered in this book Calvinism and the Making of the European Mind. It commences with the alphabet A and ends with alphabet W. The essays in this volume are all concerned with exploring the state of the art of research into the alleged impact of Calvinism on various aspects of modern Western culture. The subject of most of them, then, is not simply Calvin, but Calvinism. But as has become increasingly evident, the propriety of the latter term is questionable, although it is now so firmly established that any attempt to ban it would be futile.

Keywords: calvinism; European mind; spirituality
