Chapter Summary

This bibliography presents a list of reference books and articles relevant to the study of the Finnish Civil War in 1918. The Finnish Civil War began on 27 January 1918. The confrontation between the socialists and the middle classes had begun to build up already after the collapse of social structures due to the February Revolution in 1917 and eventually led to violent confrontations late in 1917 and early January 1918. The war began as a socialist revolution in Helsinki and with the simultaneous action taken by the Whites in Ostrobothnia on the western coast.
