Chapter Summary

This chapter presents an overview on the role of imagination in Pomponazzi eistemology. The general nature of the intellect forms is cognitively accessible only by the representations of the individual objects that bring the inner sense assets. The intellect must primarily take those features into consideration, representing the general form of the individual objects represented correctly in the representational content of phantasms. The complex picture of intellective knowledge brings dual notion dependence of the intellect to light. This chapter highlights the sensuous contents of phantasms. It discusses the specific function of power of thought composed by Pomponazzi view. The chapter examines the views on the power of thought in Latin Aristotelianism. It deals with the comments on the role of inner sense faculties. It finally discusses the cognitive power of the imagination in Pomponazzi. The original text of the chapter is in German.
