Chapter Summary

The analysis of textual error in the witnesses is organized into five subcategories: interchanges due to visual confusion, minuses (or pluses) due to visual confusion, different division of words, loss of weakened gutturals, and sundry mistakes. The investigation of this category of secondary readings reveals that 4QSamuela and mt are equally likely to contain textual errors, while GB and G L evidence fewer textual errors.
