Chapter Summary

This chapter considers those writers who were excluded from a recent edition of the fragments of the Roman historians, because their work was of uncertain genre. The authors are discussed alongside some reflections on the problem of genre in this context. This leads to some more general thoughts about historiography and antiquarianism.
