Chapter Summary

This front matter section of the book The Psalms of the Tamid Service: A Liturgical Text from the Second Temple contains table of contents and acknowledgements. The Tamid Psalms have attracted very little attention in modern scholarship. They are usually mentioned in passing in works on the psalms, but less than a handful of essays has been devoted to them in the last fifty years. Investigation of the Tamid Psalms in their own right leads naturally to the question of their role in comparative studies with other psalm groups or liturgical texts.
