Chapter Summary

This bibliography contains a list of reference articles and books relevant to the discussion of the Book of Judges. The Book of Judges describes the period between the conquest of the land of Israel and the founding of the monarchy. Each of the judge deliverer accounts is made up of a four-stage cycle: the people transgress, practicing idolatry; God's punishes them through an enemy that oppresses Israel; the people lament to God; and a judge deliverer appears to combat the enemy and deliver the people.
