* Mario Castellana, ne en 1949, est professeur de philosophie et histoire des sciences a l’universite du Salente (Lecce, Italie). Il travaille sur l’histoire de la philosophie des sciences et les rapports entre epistemologie et histoire des sciences, mais surtout sur les debats en France touchant la philosophie des mathematiques et de la physique. Il a publie de nombreux ouvrages consacres aux oeuvres de Gaston Bachelard, de Federigo Enriques, d’Albert Lautman, de Jean-Toussaint Desanti, de Ferdinand Gonseth, de Jean Piaget, d’Helene Metzger, de Michel Serres et de Raymond Boudon. Il a traduit en italien et introduit des ouvrages de Lautman et de Metzger. Il dirige la section italienne du Laboratoire Disciplinaire ≪ Pensee des sciences ≫, fonde par Charles Alunni a l’Ecole normale superieure de Paris et la collection eponyme.
