Dealing with two vedic prehistorical sandhi-phenomena (| °o | v° | > | °a v° | and | °au | v° | > | °ā v° |), this paper also gives a new interpretation of the bahuvrīhi-compound rsis¯na (RS 9.86.4) as in «who has a high back», and a new analysis of the use the stanza RS 6.46.8 makes of the connecting particle vā.
