Populations of mononchs sampled from different sites in Romania, mainly from Transylvania, belong to twenty species, two of them being new. Iotonchus carpathicus sp. n. is distinguished by the buccal cavity 42-62 x 36-52 μm, dorsal tooth nearly basal, tail conoid then cylindroid very long, 15-23% of body-length; caudal glands present but without opening. Paramylonchulus longisacculus sp. n. has a remarkably long body, a very long post-vulval uterine sac, 15-17 body-widths; without vulval papillae; buccal cavity 30-32.5 x 19.5-20 μm, tooth apex 77-93 % from base, submedian teeth absent; caudal glands grouped, spinneret dorsal subterminal. Details and measurements for eight known species, representing the first records from Romania are given. Two specimens belonging to the genus lotonchus are described without being named, until more material is to be found. Additional information on measurements and distribution for some other eight species have been provided.
