Analysis of the shape, decoration and dimensions of a bowl from Prokhorovka provides grounds for assigning it a date in the second half of the 4th century BC, most probably one soon after the middle of that century. Despite the similarity as regards the shape and proportions of the Prokhorovka bowl to the so-called “Achaemenid” bowls of the Macedonian type, the measurements and decoration of the vessel published here probably indicate that it had been manufactured in a different centre of production, which it is not possible at this stage to specify.
