Abstract This paper calls into question established views on the relationship between the two autograph MSS containing Eustathius’ commentary on the Odyssey, suggesting that we should pay attention to the ‘stratigraphy’ of Marc. gr. 460 in order to better understand the way in which these manuscripts were produced.
