Es empfiehlt sich nicht, Jer. xxxv 8b-9 als indirekte Rede zu deuten; denn die Umstandsangabe, in die der Relativsatz eingebettet ist, lässt sich wegen einer unvereinbaren Kohärenzstörung literarkritisch entfernen, und die Ergänzung eines erklärenden Satzes ist dann nicht mehr möglich. Da sich auch die Interpretation, dass zwischen den V. 8a und 8b-9 eine konsekutive Verhältnisbeziehung besteht, nicht vertreten lässt, muss man sich die Interpretation zu eigen machen, nach der die V. 8a und 8b-9 in einer modalen Verhältnisbeziehung einander zugeordnet sind.
