Der johanneische Vollmachtsbegriff gehört zu den Heilsbegriffen des 4. Evangeliums, dessen Verständnis für die johanneische Sehweise“ von tragender Bedeutung ist. Der 4. Evangelist hat ihn der synoptischen Tradition entlehnt und johanneisch“ vertieft. Er versteht unter Vollmacht ein Autorisierungsgefüge in der Gemeinschaft von Vater, Sohn und Glaubenden. Alle Vollmacht ist in Gott begründet, der Sohn empfängt in höchster Autorität die Doxa des Vaters, seine Liebe, sein Wissen und seine Lebensmacht und läßt die Glaubenden daran teilhaben. Der 4. Evangelist macht deutlich, daß Vollmacht eine positive Gabe göttlicher Liebe ist, die der ungläubigen Welt und ihrem Herrscher“ vorenthalten bleibt.
