n. Se describe la segunda especie del género Typhlophis. T. ayarzaguenai sp. nov., para la Serranía de Los Pijiguaos, estado Bolivar, Venezuela. Typhlophis ayarzaguenai se diferencia de T. squamosus principalmente por tener un mayor número total de escamas dorsales (398-418 vs 345), mayor número de escamas alrededor del cuerpo (24 vs 21) y mayor número de escamas cefálicas. Esta nueva especie constituye el primer registro del género Typhlophis para Venezuela.
