[A fixed net set on the barrier reef has been allowed to catch pueruli of Panulirus ornatus and P. longipes bispinosus. After metamorphosis in the ocean, these pueruli come into the lagoon by passing over the coral barrier in the breakers at night. For some, this crossing is the beginning of a route which may be several kilometers long, as young juveniles of these species have been observed in lagoonal fringing reefs near Noumea.

A fixed net set on the barrier reef has been allowed to catch pueruli of Panulirus ornatus and P. longipes bispinosus.
