Macrobrachium shaoi sp. nov. is described from Taipei County in northern Taiwan. The new species is similar to M. grandimanus (Randall, 1840), M. joppae Holthuis, 1950, and M. therezieni Holthuis, 1965, but can easily be distinguished by various characters of the male second pereiopod.

Macrobrachium shaoi sp. nov. est décrite de Taipei County au nord de Taiwan. La nouvelle espèce est apparentée à M. grandimanus (Randall, 1840), M. joppae Holthuis, 1950 et M. therezieni Holthuis, 1965, mais s'en distingue aisément par différents caractères du second péréipode mâle.
