[A new species of hermit crab, Dardanus jacquesi, is described on the basis of specimens from Okinawa, Japan, and the Seychelles, Indian Ocean. A presumably very closely allied species, Dardanus dearmatus (Henderson, 1888), is redescribed in detail on the basis of the holotype from Papua New Guinea and specimens from the Maldives.

Une nouvelle espèce, Dardanus jacquesi, provenant d'Okinawa, Japon, et des îles Seychelles, Océan Indien, est décrite et illustrée. La nouvelle espèce semble proche de D. dearmatus (Henderson, 1888).
