The meso-scale mobility patterns of the deep-water shrimp, Aristeus antennatus (Risso, 1816) were studied off the Catalan coast (NW Mediterranean). Seasonal mobility of this species was previously demonstrated by local studies, but now this mobility has been confirmed in two different canyon systems 100 km apart. The seasonal mobility pattern affecting the population structure (size and sex-ratio), studied by sampling onboard commercial trawlers and by landing records, was confirmed in this study, not only on a time scale but also on a spatial scale in the two ports studied.

Se presenta un estudio del modelo de movilidad de la gamba profunda, Aristeus antennatus (Risso, 1816) en la costa Catalana (NW Mediterráneo) a nivel de mesoescala. La movilidad temporal de esta especie ya fue previamente demostrada en estudios locales; ahora esta movilidad es demostrada en dos cañones submarinos distantes unos 100 km. Para este estudio se han realizado muestreos a bordo de barcos comerciales de arrastre y registros de desembarcos. El modelo de movilidad espacial, que afecta la estructura de la población de la gamba profunda (talla y proporción de sexos), se ha confirmado ahora en su dimensión espacial en ambos puertos.
