A detailed morphological study was performed on adult males and females of seven sexual populations of the brine shrimp, Artemia from China. Five populations were collected from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, three of which were recorded and investigated for the first time. The measurements of 12 biometrical parameters for males and 13 parameters for females were taken from individuals of each population, raised under standardized culture conditions from nauplii to the adult stage. They were analysed through discriminant analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis, in order to establish relationships among the different populations, as well as to have a tool to assign new sets of data for unknown populations to one of the groups analysed here. The overall percentage of correctly classified cases of females was 87.32%, a little higher than that of males, which was 84.79%. Our study showed that the Artemia from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau belong to the "large" types. The results revealed also that the seven populations can clearly be separated into two groups, i.e., high altitude populations and low altitude populations, the former populations belonging to the subspecies Artemia sinica tibetiana Abatzopoulos, Zhang & Sorgeloos, 1998, the latter belonging to the subspecies Artemia sinica sinica Cai, 1988. Une étude morphologique détaillée a été menée sur des adultes mâles et femelles de sept populations sexuées d'Artemia en Chine. Cinq populations ont été collectées de Qinghai-Plateau du Tibet, trois d'entre elles ayant été trouvées et étudiées pour la première fois. Les mesures de 12 paramètres biométriques pour les mâles et 13 pour les femelles ont été prises sur les individus de chaque population, élevés dans des conditions standards, des nauplies au stade adulte. Elles ont été analysées en analyse discrimante et en analyse hiérarchique, afin d'établir les relations entre les différentes populations, ainsi que pour avoir un outil pour attribuer de nouveaux ensembles de données de populations inconnues à l'un des groupes analysés ici. Le pourcentage total des cas de femelles correctement classés était de 87,32%, un peu plus élevé que celui des mâles, qui était de 84,79%. Notre étude a montré que l'Artemia de Qinghai-Plateau du Tibet appartient au type "grand". Les résultats ont révélé aussi que les sept populations peuvent être clairement séparées en deux groupes, c'est-à-dire, les populations de haute altitude et les populations de basse altitude, les premières appartenant à la sous-espèce Artemia sinica tibetiana Abatzopoulos, Zhang & Sorgeloos, 1998, les dernières appartenant à la sous-espèce Artemia sinica sinica Cai, 1988.
