[The feeding habits of Palaemonetes zariquieyi (n = 262) were studied by examining the stomach contents of specimens from an Iberian river throughout the summer (June to September). The diet was characterized using the Index of Relative Importance (IRI). P. zariquieyi is omnivorous, feeding largely on members of benthic communities. The bulk of the stomach content was formed by chironomids (IRI = 21.69), oligochaetes (IRI = 19.53), and a variety of organisms, ranging from insect larvae to algae. The feeding habits of Palaemonetes zariquieyi (n = 262) were studied by examining the stomach contents of specimens from an Iberian river throughout the summer (June to September).
