The swimming behaviour of Cyzicus grubei was recorded for captive animals caught from a temporary pond in Extremadura (SW Iberian Peninsula). C. grubei shows slow swimming near the bottom, but it swims actively in the water column. Mean absolute speed (cm sec−1), mean relative speed (body lengths sec−1), mean antennae stroke frequency (strokes sec−1), and mean antennae stroke distance (cm stroke−1) did not vary with carapace length in C. grubei (N = 30).
