The swimming behaviour of Cyzicus grubei was recorded for captive animals caught from a temporary pond in Extremadura (SW Iberian Peninsula). C. grubei shows slow swimming near the bottom, but it swims actively in the water column. Mean absolute speed (cm sec−1), mean relative speed (body lengths sec−1), mean antennae stroke frequency (strokes sec−1), and mean antennae stroke distance (cm stroke−1) did not vary with carapace length in C. grubei (N = 30). Se ha estudiado el comportamiento natatorio de Cyzicus grubei en ejemplares procedentes de una laguna temporal del suroeste de la Península Ibérica. C. grubei nada lentamente en cerca del fondo, pero es más activo en la columna de agua. Se ha comprobado que la velocidad media absoluta (cm s−1), la velocidad media relativa (longitud corporal s−1), la frecuencia media de golpes de antena (golpes de antena s−1) y la distancia media por golpes de antena (cm golpes de antena−1) no varían con la longitud del caparazón (N = 30).
