Two porcellanid crabs, Petrolisthes decacanthus Ortmann, 1897 and Neopetrolisthes spinatus Osawa & Fujita, 2001, are recorded from Taiwan for the first time. P. decacanthus has a wide but scattered distribution in the Indo-West Pacific, mainly on oceanic islands. Morphological variations of this species are noted. Comparison of specimens of N. spinatus and N. alobatus (Laurie, 1926) has shown that these two species are morphologically close to each other, but distinguished by the armature of the supra-ocular margin.
