The potamid freshwater crab genus Shanphusa Yeo & Ng, 2007, currently contains two species from Shan State in Myanmar (= Burma): S. browneana (Kemp, 1918) (type species) and S. curtobates (Kemp, 1918). A third species, S. ywarngan sp. nov. is described from a cave in the region. The new species can easily be distinguished from its congeners by various carapace features, shape of the male telson, and structure of the male first gonopod.
