An Isopod belonging to the genus Bagatus and apparently representing a new species has been found in the branchial cavity of a Pediculate Fish on the west coast of Africa (Senegal). A description is given of Bagatus ichthyoxenos n. sp., together with a tentative check-list for the known species of the genus.
