Polyonyx quadriungulatus et Pachycheles rudis (Décapodes, Porcellanidae) ont été élevés au laboratoire, en partant de l'oeuf jusqu'au stade post-larvaire. Le développement larvaire de chaque espèce comprend deux stades zoé. La description détaillée des larves et de leurs appendices fonctionnels souligne particulièrement l'exceptionnel accroissement de taille des appendices thoraciques, de la 3ème paire de maxillipèdes et des pléopodes en dehors des mues. Les post-larves, qui ressemblent déjà à l'adulte, sont figurées. Les larves sont comparées à celles des quelques espèces de la famille ou elles ont déjà été identifiées et décrites.
