In den Tiefseeaufsammlungen des Expeditionsschiffes ,,Vitjaz" aus dem Stillen Ozean ist die Familie Ampeliscidae mit 4 Arten der Gattung Ampelisca, 5 Arten der Gattung Byblis und 1 Art der Gattung Byblisoides vertreten. Es werden 3 neue Arten beschrieben: Byblis vitjazi, B. coeca und B. nana. Zwei Vertreter dieser Familie werden zum ersten Mal für das Ultra-abyssal angeführt: B. vitjazi wurde in einer Tiefe von 6126 m und Byblisoides arcillis in einer Tiefe von 6571 m in dem Kurilo-Kamtschatka-Graben gefunden.
