La récolte de nouveaux spécimens de la crevette pontoniide Paratypton siebenrocki Balss, espèce commensale de coraux formant des cystes, nous a fourni de nouvelles informations concernant la morphologie et biologie de l'espèce. La femelle est décrite de nouveau et le mâle pour la première fois. Quelques caractères sexuels secondaires distinctifs sont notés. Le corail-hôte est identifié et les cystes sont décrits pour la première fois. La biologie de l'espèce est discutée et sa distribution indiquée. L'auteur présente quelques observations sur la position systématique du genre Paratypton.
