Deux nouvelles espèces vivantes de Saipanetta (Podocopida, Ostracoda) sont décrites. S. bensoni, n. sp., a été trouvée dans l'Océan Pacifique près des Isles Galapagos, à la profondeur de 2489 mètres S. kelloughæ, n. sp., a été trouvée à 50 mètres dans le sable d'un petit banc de corail dans le nord du Golfe de Mexique. Les caractères des pattes sont assez primitifs, surtout les sept rayons de l'exopodite de la mandibule et les deux ou quatre rayons des exites ventraux des deuxième et troisième pattes thoraciques. Bien que les pattes de Saipanetta ressemblent un peu à celles de quelques Bairdiacea, Cypridacea, et même à Darwinula, il vaudrait mieux conserver le sousordre des Metacopina pour les Saipanettidae et les ancêtres healdiacéens des podocopines.
